3 Things We Learnt From Liverpool 2-0 Porto

 1) Liverpool's 100% record in Group- B continues

Liverpool had already claimed top spot in Group- B so it was expected that Klopp would make a whole host of changes for this fixture. However, Klopp opted against doing so and surprisingly, laid out a strong starting lineup. He made 4 changes as Ibrahima Konate, Neco Williams, Tyler Morton and Takumi Minamino came into the side. Despite this, Liverpool clearly lacked rhythm and Porto were clearly the better side, especially in the 1st half. The visitors could've easily found themselves ahead at HT if not for Otavio's glaring miss. In the 2nd half, though, Liverpool's quality shone through as they showed the clinical side to their game. Thanks to the goals from Thiago and Salah, Liverpool continue their 100% record in the ' Group of Death.'

2) Liverpool's midfield shines

If there's anyone who was due a goal, it was Thiago. In the 62nd minute, after a free kick, the ball rolled out to him as he volleyed the ball into the bottom corner to open the scoring for Liverpool. Not only did he score an absolute worldie but he also displayed his silky side to the game with his impressive passing. Next up, we've Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. The 'Ox' is presently enjoying his best run of form in a Liverpool shirt in years. He was excellent against Arsenal and he was very good tonight. He was very good defensively and became more influential in an attacking perspective as the game wore on. It is so good to see him playing and firing again after a disappointing last season. Lastly, we've to talk about Tyler Morton. He made his Champions League debut tonight and he never looked out of place. He made a crucial interception in the 1st half and also played a role in Liverpool's 2nd as he laid the ball over the top to Henderson who set up Salah.

3) Welcome returns to the squad for Millie and Robbo

Liverpool's injury list has grown quite a lot in recent weeks. With games coming thick and fast during the upcoming festive period, it is essential that Klopp is able to rotate his pack and that he has plenty of options to choose from. Hence, it was extremely satisfying to see Robertson and Milner coming back into the mix. Robbo looked full of energy and made some great runs whereas Milner earned a yellow card which rules him out for the final game against AC Milan. Let's hope that there are no new injury concerns and that both Bobby and Naby can return to the side in the coming weeks.
