5 Things We Learnt From Norwich 0-3 Liverpool
Here are 5 Things We Learnt From Norwich 0-3 Liverpool:
1) Mo Salah creates history
Mo Salah became the first ever player to score 5 successive opening day goals. Throughout preseason, Mo looked extremely lean and sharp but he wasn't able get his name on the scoresheet. That changed today as he not only scored the 3rd goal but he also provided 2 assists. Also, he linked up very well with Mane.
2) Bobby's back!
After scoring a brace against Osasuna in the final preseason friendly, Bobby hit the ground running with his strike in the 65th minute. With so much talk about this goal scoring return over the last season, he must be more determined than ever to prove his doubters wrong.
3)Tsimikas needs to improve
Tsimikas found playing time hard to come by last season given Liverpool's injury problems but after a strong preseason and Andy Robertson's ankle injury, he was named in the starting lineup to face Norwich. He was pretty good in the 1st half but he made some poor passes in the 2nd. It was a performance similar to the one against Osasuna where he was excellent in the 1st half but decent in the 2nd half. With Robbo out until the International break and with games against Burnley and especially Chelsea upcoming, he needs to improve on certain aspects of his game.
4)Virgil Van Dijk looked a bit heavy
Virgil had the lowest average speed (5.8 km/hour) out of any player on the pitch today but I think it's obvious given he was out for almost 10 months. Prior to his injury, he was one of the fastest centre-backs in the world and this trait is one of the reasons why Liverpool deploy such a high line. Let's all hope that with more game time, he gets up to speed and returns to being the best centre-back in the world.
5)Alisson showed us again why he is World Class and a clean sheet to start the season
Alisson was largely untroubled during the game but he duly delivered when was called upon. He made a very good stop to deny Pukki in the 1st half and pulled off a double save at the end to preserve Liverpool's clean sheet.
