3 Things We Learnt From Burnley 0-1 Liverpool

 1) Alisson has been unreal this season

Alisson was superb today and to be completely honest, he's been like that all season. He denied Brownhill from distance and also did enough to deny Jay Rodriguez when the score was level. However, the highlight of the day was when he found himself at the left back spot, dribbling against Rodriguez, eventually putting the ball out of play. Alisson has saved Liverpool time and time again this season and let's hope that he continues his rich vein of form going into the business end of the season.

2) Sadio Mane is back

Jurgen Klopp revealed pre-match that Mane was set for a place on the bench but Jota's dead leg meant that he started in his usual left wing spot. He was denied by Nick Pope early on in the game but he made amends as it was his vital touch that gave the ball to Fabinho who scored from his second attempt. His final pass, like his fellow Liverpool forwards, wasn't quite upto the mark and he missed a great chance to tee up Salah. Overall, it was an ok-ish performance from him as he was replaced by Jota in the 67th minute.

3) Huge 3 points but Liverpool were sloppy

Liverpool were extremely sloppy today. Trent Alexander Arnold, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino were all guilty of giving away cheap possession. Having said that, Burnley away is never straight forward. Burnley caused Liverpool's high line a lot of problems with their balls in behind especially in the 1st half. Despite not being at their best, it was good to see Liverpool manage the game well and seal the 3 points. Liverpool have found it difficult to win games like these, this season but if they are to keep up with Man City for the rest of the season, they must win ugly.
