3 Things We Learnt From Liverpool 6-0 Leeds United

 1) Curtis Jones had a decent game

Curtis Jones has found himself out of the limelight in recent times so much so that he wasn't even in the matchday squad for the last 3 games. So it was surprising to see him starting against Leeds. He didn't start the game particularly well as he misplaced a few passes and also kept hold of the ball for far too long. This was somewhat expected but what was pleasing to see was that he improved massively as the game went on. He was aggressive in the press and made some important tackles to regain the ball. He could've easily scored but decided to set up Salah instead which Salah failed to convert. With Thiago's game time being managed and with Milner's age, Jones can stake a claim for more regular appearances in the left-sided midfield role with performances like the one tonight.

2) Mo Salah, the provider

Don't let the above header fool you- Salah was also on the scoresheet, not only once but twice. Moreover, he could've easily easily had a hattrick if not for some missed opportunities. However, the most pleasing thing about his performance tonight was how well rounded his overall game was. He claimed the assist for Matip's goal as Matip was finally rewarded for one of his trademark marauding runs. He also played a chicky pass to Henderson who in turn, set up Mane for Liverpool's fourth. It was undoubtedly a Man of the Match display from our very own Egyptian King.

3) Great preparation for Wembley

Jurgen Klopp couldn't have asked for a more perfect night for the Reds before they take on Chelsea in the League Cup Final at the weekend. At the back, Liverpool not only kept a clean sheet but both our centre halves got on the scoresheet.
In the middle, he was able to manage both Henderson and Thiago while also giving minutes to the likes of Jones and Milner. Upfront, two of Liverpool's major goal threats, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, got on the scoresheet, not once but twice. Now let's just hope that we've some silverware to celebrate at the end of the week.
