3 Things We Learnt From Everton 1-4 Liverpool
1) A captain's performance
Jordan Henderson gave Liverpool the lead with an absolute beautiful strike in the 9 minute of the game. Roberston pulled a cutback at the edge of the box where Henderson was arriving as he struck the ball first time on his left. He also assisted Liverpool's 2nd as he set Salah through on goal who opened his body up to score in style. It was, without question, Henderson's best performance this season.
2) A1 finishing and chance creation from the Reds
Although Liverpool scored 4 goals, they could've easily scored a lot more, especially in the 1st half. They could've been ahead in the 1st 3 minutes as Matip missed a free header. In the very next moment it was Salah who struck the ball over the bar. Again in the 8th minute, Pickford denied Salah as he saved a low effort from him. Finally, in the 9th minute, it was Henderson who put Liverpool upfront. Liverpool's dominance was such that they had created 5 chances in the 1st quater of the game. Salah, who scored one in the 1st half and one in the second, could've easily had a hattrick in the 1st 20 minutes of the game. Diogo Jota scored Liverpool's fourth and final goal in the 79th minute. It was an exceptional finish form a very tight angle. He displayed exquisite touch to take the ball away from Allan as he shot above Pickford who could do nothing to prevent the ball from going in. Liverpool have been great in front of goal this season and let's just hope that it stays like this.
3) Fabinho x Thiago
Fabinho and Thiago have started 14 games together. In this time, LFC have won 13 and drawn 1, scoring 39 in the process and conceeding just 6. It's clear how great these two are together but the most important thing now would be to keep them fit for the remainder of the season. It's down to Klopp to rotate the midfield positions sufficiently so that they can come through the festive period unscathed.
